Fastned starts first Belgium recharging station

Fastned has exposed its first fast billing section in Belgium, making the organization operational in four countries.

The brand new station is found close to Ostend-Bruges airport.

EV motorists can truly add up to 300km range in a quarter-hour, with electricity from sun and wind.

“you want to provide electric automobiles more freedom to push electric and travel greater distances, and that’s why there is a need for a nationwide network of asking infrastructure and fast charging points such as this one at Ostend Airport,” said Flemish Minister of Mobility, Lydia Peeters.

“it may be a motivation for personal individuals and companies to choose zero-emission automobiles. As time goes by more of Fastned’s fast charging stations will be on Flemish roads. At the beginning of this year, through the Agency for Roads and Traffic, we granted the permit to Fastned for the construction of 13 fast charging channels along Flemish motorways. This is the way we are taking clear actions on greening mobility.”

For his component, Fastned CEO, Michael Langezaal, included: “The opening of first Fastned section in Belgium is a superb step up the expansion of our European fast charging system. Belgium could be the fourth country where Fastned has become operational.

“because of the growing European network, we allow it to be easier for people to switch to an electric vehicle. Ostend-Bruges Airport is a place with countless traffic, where motorists can now fast charge their electric car.

“within the coming years we shall realise many more channels in Belgium in cities and along motorways.”
