Dana respected with Drivetrain element of the Year Award for Spicer® TE50 powershift transmission at 2020 Diesel Progress Summit

Dana Incorporated announced today it was awarded the Drivetrain Component of the Year Award for its Spicer® TE50 powershift transmission at the 2020 Diesel Progress Summit and Awards, held the other day.

The 2020 Diesel Progress Summit recognizes commercially available drivetrain components utilized in a regular powertrain application, including transmissions, powertrain components, axles, hydraulics, and tires.

“Dana’s clients are looking for products that help them attain greater efficiency and improved performance within their present automobile designs,” stated Aziz Aghili, president of Dana Off-Highway Drive and Motion Technologies. “This prize from the organizers regarding the Diesel Progress Summit highlights the commitment of all of us to delivering solutions to the marketplace that straight deal with the challenges faced by our customers.”

Made for big load haul dumpers, vehicles found in underground mining, and wheel loaders, the Spicer TE50 transmission increases productivity, improves dependability, and reduces running costs for heavy-duty, high-power applications. Its electronically modulated hydrodynamic design provides precise vehicle management, enhanced gas effectiveness, smoother shifting, and optimized braking.

The Spicer TE50 is engineered for vehicles from 400 to 600 kW (544 to 816 horsepower) and made to fit within present vehicle design envelopes. Offered with four- or eight-speed gearboxes to optimize moving ratios, the transmission can be acquired with automatic lockup, which improves gas effectiveness by enabling direct drive even at low rates.

Dana’s new transmission can be loaded with three heavy-duty, auxiliary pump drives and features a, automated retarder for reduced braking system wear and smoother, quieter braking.
